DearStephanie 8/26/09 I I can’t believe that a year has pass since we first met. A lot has happened this year. First, let me say thank you for helping me find the joy of reading again. I have read more books in the past year then I had in the past 5 years. My family and friends used to call me a bookworm. When I was younger I taught the younger ones to read by reading to them. As we both know, with life and kids, jobs, we tend to forget some of the joyful things for the more pressing things. I didn’t take any summer class. I needed a break. Spring classes didn’t go so well. My car was stone right out of my driveway, so I had to depend on others for a ride to school. Which caused my attendance to be very low and that made my class grades low. I did get a new suv, so no excuses this semester. I had an awesome summer. We watched the fireworks on the riverfront, we also seen Hello Dave and The little river band on the riverfront I also started a new job in January. To remind you, I have been a C.N.A for 24 years and am now working for my R.N. I know work at Morton Terrace Nursing home on the Special care unit for Alzheimer’s residents. Just recently I was appointed the 1 on 1 Director. It’s the best job I have ever had. Although I am finding it hard to adjust to the changes! I’m used to do all the physical work that it takes to care for a sick person, but know all I do is interact with them. Keeping drifting minds busy is no simple task; it’s like one big party all day long. I have to think more and much more brain work/ paper work. It also means that I could cut my work hours down. Let me finish by telling you that reading has truly made a big difference in my life. Sincerely LaDonna Beever
